Burden That We Both Share (слэш)

Snape has survived the final war, against all of his careful preparations that he wouldn't. Potter has survived too, but he doesn't feel very alive. They both try to go through the motions of what life looks like post war, but quickly discover that everything they knew before, their instincts and habits that kept them alive, are now just reminders of people they don't really recognize or embody anymore. They have to figure out if the lust, guilt, and shame they feel for each other is just a punishment for how badly they failed at dying, surviving, keeping others protected or if it's the foundation for something more tender, gentle, and kind, something that exists beyond trauma.
