After the battle of Camlann, and the days long trek to reach the isle of the blessed, Arthur, though delirious, has had a chance to come to terms with both his death and Merlin's magic. When he finaly does die, the one thing he didn't count on was what Merlin's magic was liable to do. Because Merlin had the unique ability to create more problems he actaully managed to solve, and still somehow save the day.
The powerful buffoon that he is.
