“He’s been dead too long. I buried him a long time ago.” Thor shrugged.
“Thor, we don’t know that, it could still work-” Thor stood, towering over Bruce’s small form.

After the re-snap, Thor begins to believe that his brother very well be gone for good. He thought for a long time that this was just another one of his tricks, but it's clear now that his brother really is gone.
But then Banner gives him hope.
Oh, what good is hope anyways? It always just leaves you disappointed in the end.
