| 5 Times Merlin disguised himself. And 1 time he stops hiding Alternatively: When Gwaine finds out about Merlin’s magic, he convinces Merlin to use it for funs sake. He learned of the Dolma and Dragoon and immediately makes Merlin come up with new diguises. And he does it, so Merlin can hear how Arthur talks about Merlin behind his back. Which is surprisingly positive. And ...>>partly embarrassing, but Arthur doesn’t even notice how obviously he’s pining. Merlin, however, sees it for the first time from the eyes of a maid, a knight, a royal, a stable boy, a barkeeper etc. Surprisingly enough, Gwaine doesn’t even ask Merlin to prank Arthur. He just makes him listen. And that’s how bitter and depressed season 5 Merlin gets healed from his paranoia and self depreciation.
