It would be such a subversion (in a fanfic) if someone uses the Ring in desperation, and makes complex plans to have other people able and willing kill him once he succumbs, and so on.
And then it turns out the Ring is totally benign and it was all misinformation from Sauron and worst-case assumptions by everyone else.
Now the protag has to use the power of the Ring for good (and for stopping Sauron) while desperately evading the failsafes they themselves set up to stop them if they did that!

Монотеистическая религия - это что-то вроде бессмертного (воображаемого) лидера. Типа, вы просто координируете свои действия с другими людьми, чтобы вести себя так, будто за вашей спиной стоит вождь/лидер/лорд, который велит вам что-то делать. Этот лидер неуязвим и бессмертен. Он не может быть принужден к каким-то действиям угрозами. Он столетиями преследовал одни и те же цели, вы можете видеть что построили, чего достигли и чем правили люди, которыми он командовал.

Вы можете присягнуть ему на верность не выходя за пределы своего города, у него там есть представители. Или даже не выходя за пределы собственных мыслей.

Это что-то вроде корпоративной личности, но, хммм... личности морального конструкта/договора?

Политеистические религии в этом фрейминге получается что-то вроде фантомного племени? ватаги? Интересные параллели с переходом к большим централизованный государствам с монархиями. Что дальше, какая новая форма религии соответствует демократиям?

Прям как из рассказа от Кьювентри но только irl. И что самое забавное этот диалог рационален и имеет смысл, хотя достаточно спекулятивен имхо.

Для полного погружения представьте что вы подслушали как этот диалог вели два человека в черных плащах, полушепчащим заговорщическим тоном.

Perhaps what we should cultivate is a desire for power and actually hoard capital, and go hard on upgrade paths in worlds where this is an option
