“I think I might be in love.” Reki tugs at the frayed plastic lid of his soda cup and sucks absently at the melting ice at the bottom. He can feel Miya glaring at him from behind the register, but he doesn’t make eye contact.
“Fascinating,” says Miya, rolling his eyes. “Do you want a cookie?” Reki sighs and picks up the empty cup from the counter, throwing it across their ...>>shared space and into the trashcan in the corner. He lands the shot and fist pumps with glee, rewarding himself with a tray of french fries from under the heat lamp. Miya looks at him in disgust. “Those are for customers you know—” “And the craziest part,” Reki says, shoving a fry into his mouth, “is that I don’t even know what this guy looks like.” Miya’s eyebrows raise in mild interest. “Explain.” In which, Reki is a university student in love with a podcaster that he doesn't know and Langa is a clueless librarian's assistant who runs an astrology podcast in secret. |
